Well my loves, I am off to Mexico with my juju for a much needed break from just about everything right now. It has been an intense year filled with more than enough heartache and stress so this girl is pretty excited to just get away from everything. I know I am usually on top of emails, but this time around I plan on shutting off all social media…. I hope you guys aren’t too mad but I just need to start fresh dolls. I am hoping to come back with a clean slate on life and everything else in between :) xoxo moni

I love you Portland!

Happy Friday Dolls! Hope errbody had an amazing week :) So, Portland was amazing! My persian boho gold glam glitter wedding was even more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined. I met some pretty amazing people and I am pretty much obsessed with Portland! You can bet your buns I will be planning a trip with juju there very shortly. I did a ton of sight seeing but my phone was being very lame so I couldn’t take too many photos :( but here is what I managed to snap! Okay. First stop..Voodoo doughnut shop. Oh Em Gee. This place was pure joy. Best doughnuts hands down. I had something called an ol dirty bastard which consisted of big chunks of oreo cookies and peanut butter. I don’t even have a photo because it was gone almost instantly. Any who here it goes….oh all photos courtesy of my iphone

Jade is my Portland bff and we pretty much ate to our hearts content. Literally all of our time was spent eating and walking. ps – Jade is kind of the hottest thing ever

Jade and I went to the most stunning Rose garden! You will have to take my word for it because my phone crapped out as usual. But I did manage to snag this gem!
My phone suddenly started working again so the best photos are of the gorgeous Sarah Seven boutique. I seriously wish I had gotten married in one of these babies!

Redesigned: My Wedding

I was recently asked by my sweet friend Nikkol Christiansen who runs the stunning blog Peter Loves Jane to contribute to a section called “my wedding redesigned” Not that I absolutely didn’t love my wedding as is but if I could ever have a re-do, it would go a little something like this:

First things first, my juju and I would elope to some gorgeous little spot probably somewhere in Paris or Southern California. Just the two of us without a care in the world! Elizabeth Messina or Jose Villa would capture all of the gorgeousness and I would have the amazing Julie Song Ink create some gorgeous paper for us! Without further ado here is what I would do now.

The Paper: Julie Song Ink is my hero when it comes to all things pretty and paper so in my dream world she would help me create something that oozes romance and color all into one! Photo Credit: Julie Song Ink

Happy Monday doll’s! Hope all ya’ll had a wonderful weekend :) and hope all of my American homies had a fab memorial day weekend! I cannot believe that it is almost June. Seriously, how the heck has half of the year gone by already? I honestly feel a little defeated knowing that I haven’t been able to keep up with life and work and of course the blog :( I am getting ready to fly down to Portland for the most gorgeous Persian/Boho/Glam/Gold/Glitter wedding! it is going to be one for the books ya’ll! Once I come back me and juju will be taking a much needed teenie tiny vacay to Mexico and I promise after that the blog will be getting a lot more love and many more posts :) xoxo moni

Wedding Tips: Bridesmaid Edition

Okay you gorgeous bridesmaids….I know sometimes it can be hard to dealing with the bride when she is getting closer and closer to her wedding date but you have to understand that she is probably dealing with mounds and mounds of stress….so here are a few things to keep and mind and some tips for being an amazing bridesmaid:

1. Remember that it is not about you. This is your friend’s wedding, not yours. This means that if it makes her happy, you will wear an ugly dress without complaint. You will travel to the middle of nowhere. You will carry luggage and goodie bags and flowers. Whatever the task is, you will do it to ensure that your friend has a special day, regardless of if you would make the same choice as a bride yourself.

2. Be honest and supportive at the same time. Your bride will be making dozens of decisions while planning her wedding, from color scheme to catering options to The Dress. Sometimes it’s appropriate for you to share your honest feedback, and sometimes it’s better to just support your friend in the decision she’s made. If she’s about to purchase an awful and gaudy wedding gown, perhaps step in and say you’d like to see her in something more flattering. But if she’s stressing about her catering choice? Reassure her that it was a great decision and everything will turn out wonderfully. No need to add to that stress!

3. Come prepared! You are going to spend the entire day getting ready with the bride, so make sure you’re prepared with all the necessities. Make up touch ups, concealer, water bottles, etc. You’re also going to be the person that guests come to when they need to know information so that they don’t disrupt the bride, so make sure you know the times and locations that people need to be places.

4. Stay sober. Well, maybe not 100% sober, but when the reception is in full swing and the bride and groom are inseparable, you should be fully functional and able to step in to help with different things – the catering clean-up, the questions the DJ might have, assisting the guests with getting back to their hotel. Taking on this responsibility will ease the bride’s worry and allow her to enjoy the last of the day without any incidents.

5. Play nice. You might not know all of the other bridesmaids and you might not like all of them, but get over it. There’s nothing worse than causing tension for the bride because you and her other friends can’t get along for 8 hours.

Just remember, weddings can bring the crazy out of anyone so don’t let that ruin a lifetime of friendship. Just be calm and understand that 99% of the time you will have your girlfriend back to normal once the cray cray aspect of the wedding is done with!

Another week has just gone by and this year seems like it isn’t slowing down for anybody. I am getting ready to shut yet another busy week off with some much needed rest before all of the beautiful madness of wedding season hits me! Down here in good ol Canada we are gearing up to enjoy May long weekend! I intend on getting some nails did and perhaps purchasing some pretty little dresses for my upcoming and much needed vacay with my juju in Mexico. Do you guys have any places you would recommend for summer light and airy, pretty attire? either in stores or online? let me know what you babes think is hot ;) have a marvelous weekend my loves! xoxo moni ps – how rad is my little owl?

Oh wow..okay…you guys, are seriously in for a treat today because I have one of the most stunning engagement sessions of all time! This one is very near and dear to my heart because it involves a very dear friend of mine. Her name is Najla and on top of being a drop dead and oh so gorgeous babe she also runs one of the most stunning magazines here in E-town, Blush Magazine! Najla & her boo Alaa met in NY so they figured it would only be fitting to go back to this magical city to capture some super serious sweetness…and who better to capture their love than my gorgeous home girl Marianna Jamad! Naj & Alaa, you two are one of the most sweetest, kindest and darling couples I know and I cannot wait for you two to tie the knot! xoxo moni

Just Breathe

It has been one heck of a week dolls. Lately, I have been running on little to no fuel. Both my body and brain are saying “moni, slow the fuck down and go to bed early tonight” I have been a bad girl you guys. I have been a bad wife, a bad daughter, and a bad friend. I always think that I can solve everyone’s problems and make them feel so amazing about themselves when it hit me…how come I don’t give myself the same kind of love? By not caring about my health and my needs I run dry which means I don’t have the energy to make my sweet husband a home cooked meal when he finishes a super hard day at work. I drown myself with shit I cant keep up with and I end up neglecting my friends and family. I don’t know about you but I am going to make my husband something amazing this weekend and keep at it. I am going to catch up with some of the sweetest friends and I am going to take my mama out for the sweetest mothers day brunch. Sometimes, you just have to breathe and accept the fact that you cant be everyone’s hero and you cant make everyone happy all the time. You will make many mistakes but you will learn from them and grow as a beautiful human being. I hope everyone recharges their minds and bodies this weekend.
